NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, her parents and her new boyfriend and leaving their bodies in a field waived his right to a speedy trial and pleaded not guilty in a Florida court.
Circuit Judge William R. Webb set a Dec. 9 pre-trial hearing for 28-year-old Adam Matos on Monday in Pasco County. Authorities say Matos moved from Pennsylvania to Florida with his girlfriend and her family.
An arrest report says Matos took his 4-year-old son from the home after the killings in late August. He and the unharmed boy were found at a Tampa hotel Sept. 4 after a manhunt.
Days before the slayings, deputies had responded to the family’s rented waterfront home to investigate a domestic violence call between Matos and his ex-girlfriend.
Adam Matos' hearing is over. He will be back in court on December 9th for a pretrial hearing. #wflatv
