Plant City Fire Rescue responded along with the Plant City Police Department to a fire at 1308 N. Shannon Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Thursday morning. The home is believed to be abandoned at the time the fire was reported.
They found the single story home fully engulfed in flames and it took roughly a half hour to get it under control.
Heavy lift equipment was used to lift the collapsed metal roof of the home. The State Fire Marshal is on scene and is conducting an investigation.
