93 middle schoolers treated for pepper spray accident

7:09 PM Hillsborough Fire Rescue crews are at McLane Middle School, along with multiple EMS crews that are treating children and teachers in the school’s cafeteria. In all, 37 people were taken to Brandon Regional Hospital for treatment. All injuries were minor.

3:41 PM BRANDON – Dozens of people are being checked out after being sickened by something in the air at McLane Middle School in Brandon.

Officials say 93 people inside the school were affected. They have been moved to the cafeteria to be evaluated.

The source of the irritant was not immediately clear but it officials are trying to determine if it was pepper spray.

At least 10 people have been hospitalized.

3:05PM BRANDON, Fla – Several students are being treated for a pepper spray incident at McLane Middle School in Brandon.

ABC Action News has confirmed that Hillsborough County Fire Rescue is responding to the scene and several ambulances have been called to the school.

According to HCFR, 93 people need treatment.
