80% Of Travelers Hitting The Road For Weekend

Roughly 41 million Americans are planning to spend their holiday away from home.

The American Automobile Association estimates eighty percent of travelers will stick to the highways instead of flying, which is the highest level since 2007.

“With school out for summer, the Fourth of July holiday is typically the busiest summer travel holiday,” AAA Spokesman Mark Jenkins wrote in a press release.

She adds that about five million more Americans travel for Independence Day compared to Memorial or Labor Day weekends.

If you choose to fly this weekend, make sure to check your flight status before you leave home.

Also keep in mind that Hurricane Arthur is expected to cause some delays and cancellations in the Southeast.
