75 Charged in Firearms and Drug Ring

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — Investigators say they have seized 270 illegal firearms and charged 75 people with weapons and drugs charges after an eight-month investigation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida and several local law enforcement agencies announced the results on Wednesday.

Officials say agents for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office posed as potential buyers for illegal weapons, drugs and stolen property.

According to federal indictments, 12 defendants charged with selling firearms and drugs to the undercover agents are prior felons.
