47 dogs found caged inside Auburndale FL home

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – During a drug investigation at an Auburndale home, Polk County deputies discovered dozens of dogs living in deplorable conditions.

On Friday, deputies found 47 dogs on the property of a home located at 3921 Owens Road.  The dogs were confined to cages, which were stacked on top of each other.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control officers and Agriculture deputies were called to the scene to help deputies.

The dogs were found standing in their own feces and urine, and were not provided food or water, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.  The sheriff’s office also said the odor of feces and urine was overwhelming inside the residence.

All of the animals have been taken to the PCSO Animal Control facility, where they are being looked over.
