46 Years Ago: Man Walked on Moon

July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong descended from the ladder of the lunar module “Eagle” and became the first man to set foot on the surface of the moon.

“That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind,” Armstrong said as he completed the historic moment.

Buzz Aldrin joined Armstrong on the surface shortly thereafter while Mike Collins remained in orbit with the Command Module.
