33 Gang Members Arrested in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Thirty three members of gangs in central Florida have been charged in a racketeering case.
 
 The Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation announced that arrest warrants were issued Wednesday. The Orlando Sentinel reports (http://thesent.nl/WJdQXu ) the members were responsible for hundreds of crimes through the area.
 
 Authorities became aware of the violent gangs in 2006 and started an investigation last year involving federal, state and local agencies.

The investigation was dubbed “Operation Strong Arm” and included charges against high-ranking members of gangs.
 
     More than a dozen firearms were seized in the case.
