A 3-year-old boy shot his father and eight month pregnant mother over the weekend in a New Mexico hotel room, CNN reports.
Police say the boy got the handgun out of his mother’s purse and fired one shot that hit both his mother and father. The shot reportedly struck his father in the lower back, went through and struck his mother in the right shoulder.
The father was treated at the hospital and released and the mother is in stable condition, but the unborn child’s condition is still uknown.
Both the 3-year-old and his 2-year-old sister are under the care of the Children’s Youth and Families department at the moment. Neither were injured.
