The Republican-controlled Florida House has passed a controversial abortion bill 77-41 that forces females to make two trips to a clinic for the procedure.
The first visit would be a consultation followed by a 24 hour waiting period before going ahead with the procedure.
A female can get the day-long wait waived by presenting document evidence that she is the victim of rape, incest, or human trafficking.
A similar bill is being debated in the Republican-controlled Senate.
Democrats, who are against abortion restrictions, say if the bill becomes law, it will be struck down by the courts.
