The 12-year-old Manatee County missing girl has been found. Valerie Davis was last scene last Thursday night.

However, on Friday while Marcela Gonzalez was at work, Valerie Davis, 12, called a neighbor to say she was heading back home and that she was okay.  Valerie’s mom, drove to their Riverview home to meet her.

Valerie was located Friday night by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office officials at a residence in Wimauma.

Valerie, a sixth grader at Brandon Alternative School, went missing Thursday and was last seen in the River Landings subdivision about 6:30 p.m.

Her mother had been bringing Valerie to work with her at the Taco Bell at 6310 S.R. 70 E., where Gonzalez is a manager. Between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Thursday, Valerie left the Taco Bell and police  learned she walked through the River Landings, which is next to the restaurant, and spoke to people in the 5500 and 5600 blocks of 61st Street East.

Both residents are regulars at Taco Bell and know Valerie. The Sheriff’s Watch Unit searched the docks and river banks in the area.
