Tampa, Florida – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office needs your help. They’re offering a $1000 reward to help find Doc, A specially trained cattle dog who went missing over the weekend.

And they say they know someone has him.

Surveillance cameras at a Shell Station along Palmer Boulevard in Sarasota captured a video of someone hosing off the cattle dog and then walking away with him.

Sgt. Ron Cain, with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, says he is relieved to know Doc in alive. His brother, a sheriff’s office agricultural detective, owns the sixty pound mixed breed, whose job it is to help herd cows off roads.

Doc escaped Saturday from inside a stock trailer going down I-75 North, near the Fruitville Road exit. Sgt. Cain believes Doc climbed through an opening at the top of the trailer.

Amazingly enough, according to a witness who saw the person with the dog, Doc only suffered some road rash. Though thankful Doc got help, Sgt. Cain is now asking the man to return him.

“I just want him to know that the dog is really loved and it’s really missed, and we really hope that you’ll call us and let us have him back,” said Sgt. Cain.

Sgt. Cain says Doc is micro-chipped.

If you recognize the man in the video, you’re asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
