1 Dead After Motorcycle Crash In Riverview

A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a 2014 Ford Escape that cut into his path Monday evening in Riverview.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Kenneth Epps, 48, was heading east on Bloomingdale Avenue in the left lane on his 2002 Suzuki GSXR Motorcycle on Monday at 5:06 p.m. when the Ford Escape, driven by 31-year-old Jorge Arturo Granados turned off of Christy Lane and pulled in front of him forcing him to slam on his breaks.

Police say the cyclist skidded into the SUV and was thrown from the bike and died from injuries sustained in the accident.

There were two passengers in the Escape. The driver and 27-year-old Angela Granados did not suffer any injuries, while 3-year-old Natalie Granados suffered minor injuries.

Next of kin has been notified.
