Two Shot in Armed Robbery Outside Char-Pal

For the second night in a row, Tampa Police are trying to find out why a gunman opened fire on people in a bar parking lot.

This time it happened at Char-Pal Lounge near Busch Gardens.

Police say the two victims went to the bar Tuesday night for a few drinks and went back to their car to hang out, when they were approached by three armed men driving an older model, 4-door Nissan or Toyota.

One of the suspects robbed the passenger side victim at gun point and shot him in the leg.

The other two suspects went to the victim on the driver’s side and demanded his money at gun point.

After he handed over his money, police say one of the suspects pistol whipped him and in the process, dropped his gun in the victim’s lap.

The victim grabbed the gun, as the suspect told his accomplice to shoot their victim.

The three suspects were last seen driving away from the Char-Pal Lounge parking lot eastbound on Busch Boulevard.

The victims were taken to the hospital.

Police do not believe there is any link to the bar, calling the crime a random armed robbery.

They are reviewing surveillance video from other stores in the area, but do not believe the crime was captured on camera.

Early Tuesday morning, police were in the Ybor area where a gunman opened fire in the parking lot there after an altercation inside the club, shooting five people.  All five are expected to survive.
