Police were searching for a man who stabbed another man in the arm Sunday evening during an attempted robbery in New Tampa.
The victim was walking on the sidewalk about 6:30 p.m. in front of the Walmart Supercenter at 19910 Bruce B. Downs Blvd.
The suspect asked for the victim’s wallet. When the victim did not hand it over, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the forearm before fleeing, police said. The wound appeared minor but would require stitches, police said.
