SNL Chris Rock Returns
This week, SNL alum Chris Rock will be hosting the show with musical guest Prince. In the video below, Chris Rock says in the video, “Well legend has it, if you say [Prince’s] name three times as sexy as possible, he will appear.”
According to Rock’s IMDB page, he lasted hosted the show in 1996 but has since made several guest appearances on the show. He was a cast member from 1990-1993.
Rock’s hosting gig happens to occur during the week SNL cast member Michael Che receives backlash from his comments on the viral video of Shoshana B. Roberts walking around New York City with unwanted catcalling from strangers. The Wrap quotes Che’s tweet and Instagram post (both have been taken down) saying, “I want to apologize to all the women that I’ve harassed with statements like ‘hi’ or ‘have a nice day’ or ‘you’re beautiful.”
Many SNL viewers and Che’s twitter followers were outraged by his responses. He later added to his post, ““The closest thing I’ve experienced is maybe when a girl recognizes me from TV and they say things like ‘Ahh! Oh My God! ‘SNL’ ‘SNL’ ‘SNL’!”
