Sarah Silverman Makes SNL Hosting Debut

Silverman Returns To SNL

Comedian Sarah Silverman made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live this past week and returning to SNL for the first time since she was a cast member in the early 90’s. Silverman is known for having a darker comedic background. On her hosting debut, Silverman shows a great combination of her acting and comedic skills. Here were just a few of my favorites during the show.

1. Colin Jost and Michael Che Interaction at the Weekend Update desk.

SNL

For starters, SNL fans have felt mixed about the recent Weekend Update change up with keeping Jost and keeping Cecily Strong as a regular player. However, I enjoyed the piece of Che and Jost’s interaction as to what they both can and cannot say.

2. The Joan Rivers in Heaven Roast

SNL

After the sketch aired, SNL posted a photo of the late comedian Joan Rivers. The sketch was light heart humor and featured other dead celebrities. Silverman portrayed a great imitation of Rivers, in addition to Bobby Moymihan’s hilarious Benjamin Franklin impression.

3. The Fault In Our Stars Spoof.

With all the latest news regarding the Ebola outbreak, SNL took an opportunity at this and created this spoof, The Fault In Our Stars 2: The Ebola In Our Everything. Both Silverman and Taran Killam brought the funny in this digital short and putting Killam in a Hazmat suit definitely put it over the top.

Next week SNL returns with host Bill Hader and musical guest Hozier at 11:30pm ET. For more on SNL, please visit here .
