Robert Pattinson is reportedly set to star in the long-gestating adaptation of David Grann’s The Lost City of Z about the British explorer Percy Fawcett, who will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness).
The report did not specify who exactly Pattinson would be playing in director James Gray’s (We Own the Night) adaptation. Brad Pitt, who was originally set to star as the explorer, is now just attached in a producing capacity.
Pattinson can be seen next in The Rover and David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars, and is currently gearing up to work with Werner Herzog to play T.E. Lawrence in Queen of the Desert. [The Wrap]
