The “Fargo” TV series will definitely look different than the movie of the same name. Frances McDormand’s character, Sheriff Marge Gunderson won’t be in the new FX series.
The “Fargo” TV series based on the 1996 Coen brothers film, with Joel and Ethan Coen serving as executive producers, is currently in development at FX from MGM Television. Roma Khanna, the president of MGM Television, revealed the character’s disappearance: “She’s (Gunderson) not in it. It’s not a retelling of the same story, because on so many levels that would be foolish.”
