Toy Story 4 Is On The Way!
Fans of the beloved Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story series received huge news when the company announced Toy Story 4 is aimed for a 2017 release. John Lasseter who directed the first two films (Toy Story and Toy Story 2), will be directing the 4th feature film of the series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, it has been 8 years since The Walt Disney Company first purchased Pixar for $7.4 Billion. In a press release, Lasseter said, “We love these characters so much; they are like family to us.” He later added, ” Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself.”
Many fans of the film believed that Toy Story 3 was going to be the final full feature film of Woody, Buzz, and the gang. Since Toy Story 3, Disney-Pixar has released shorts of the series that have aired on both the big screen and television. These shorts include, Toy Story of Terror, Hawaiian Vacation, Small Fry, and Partysaurus Rex.
Since the announcement of Toy Story 4, the topic has been trending on Twitter.
