Eddie Redmayne won an Oscar this year for best actor of the year for his work in the film “The Theory of Everything.” The other nominees included:

– Michael Keaton, “Birdman”
Collecting the award, Redmayne said: “Thank you. Thank you. I don’t think I’m capable of articulating quite how I feel right now. I’m fully aware that I am a lucky, lucky man.
Redmayne, 33, beat Michael Keaton for the prize even though “Birdman” won the best picture of the year.
