Celine Dion Helps Launch Canadian Artist On Strip

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Celine Dion is throwing her star power behind a fellow French Canadian songstress who’s setting up shop across the street in Las Vegas.

Dion is helping Veronic DiCaire launch “Veronic Voices,” which features impersonators of 50 female artists ranging from Whitney Houston to Carrie Underwood.

DiCaire opened for Dion in Montreal in 2008 and succeeded in the French music world before launching a two-month residency at Bally’s casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

It’s not the only project the 45-year-old Dion is working on. The Caesars Palace headliner says she’s looking forward to releasing her new album in October.

The record includes a collaboration with R&B artist Ne-Yo and will be her first English project in six years.
