This evening it was “Birdman” and not “American Sniper” which was named the best picture of the year. Other nominees included:
– Richard Linklater, “Boyhood”
– Bennett Miller, “Foxcatcher”
– Morten Tyldum, “The Imitation Game”
Alejandro González Iñárritu also won the award for best director of the year, while the movie also took home Oscars for best cinematography and best original screenplay.
