To celebrate the highly anticipated and star-studded release of Will Ferrell’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (in theaters Dec. 20), ice cream makers Ben & Jerry’s have announced that they’re releasing a flavor dedicated to Ron Burgundy and the rest of San Diego’s Action 4 News team, and it’s called “Scotchy Scotch Scotch.”
According to the press release, “the flavor is a creamy concoction of butterscotch ice cream with ribbons of butterscotch swirl.”
“Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch’ is a delicious ice cream and I hope Ben and Jerry consider my other suggestions,” said Ron Burgundy. “Malt liquor marshmallow, well liquor bourbon peanut butter, and cheap white wine sherbet.”
The flavor was officially unveiled at New York City’s Pier 36 with a performance by Nutty The Waterskiing Squirrel, as seen in the first Anchorman film, and immediately followed by the appearance of a Ben & Jerry’s scoop-truck-turned-Channel 4 News-truck, which rolled onto the scene transporting a legion of blazer-wearing Ron Burgundy lookalikes that served samples of the flavor to people who couldn’t wait for it to go down, down into their bellies.
