Captain America fans, spoilers ahead! If you do not want “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” spoiled for you do not read any further!
Well, because I’m not a pirate and the security guard was bigger than me I do not have video of the two post film scenes.
Halfway through the credits we get our first glimpse of “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron” and the two new Avengers; the Scarlet Witch and Quicksliver plus Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. This interpretation of the characters reminds me of Brian K. Vaughan’s ‘Runaways.’ The Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen looks like Nico Minoru nice and gritty. The special effects for Wanda Maximoff’s twin brother Pietro looks solid. Quickslver is a pure ripoff of the Flash but he works as this in between plot foil. The scene doesn’t advance the Avengers plot very much but the crowd roared with applause at the end.
After the credits the audience is given the possible lead into Captain America 3. It’s a very brief scene but the Winter Soldier is in the Smithsonian Institute looking at the Captain America exhibit and he discovers the Bucky Barnes portion. I wasn’t very impressed with this scene. Yes, I know that Bucky and Cap need to resolve some issues, but don’t I deserve a “Guardian of the Galaxy” tease?
My review of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be up shortly. The quick review is that it’s better than first and Captain America finally gives an inspirational speech.
