CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police arrested 72-year-old Richard Wesko, of North Port, on arson charges Saturday, after he allegedly set clothing on fire at TJ Maxx.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to the store, located on Del Prado Blvd., just before 3:30 p.m. The Cape Coral Fire Department and State Fire Marshal assisted in determining that garments hanging on racks in three different locations within the store were set on fire using a lighter.
Based on witness statements, scene examination and all other information, Wesko was identified as the responsible party. He was charged with Arson in the First Degree, and transported to the Lee County Jail.
