Man Arrested For Stopping At Imaginary Train Tracks

A man who stopped for apparent non-existent railroad tracks and who said his eyeball once popped out of his head was arrested on a misdemeanor charge, according to recently released records.

Fort Pierce police stopped William Katsanis, 54, about 11:45 p.m. Nov. 22 after spotting his Chevrolet Blazer traveling on North Indian River Drive.

An officer reported the Chevrolet nearly came to a complete stop several times for no reason and swerved in its lane.

The driver, Katsanis, smelled of booze. Asked why he kept coming to an almost complete stop, Katsanis said “he was crossing the railroad tracks looking out for the train,” an affidavit states.

“It should be noted that there are no tracks … where Mr. Katsanis was driving,” the affidavit states.
