A pedestrian was struck and killed by a CSX train late Wednesday afternoon, according to law enforcement and county fire rescue officials.
Marion County Sheriff’s Office Detective Ollue Myers said the deceased has been identified as Anton J. Burden, 21, of Ocala.
Myers said Burden was walking on the railroad tracks with his headphones on. Eyewitnesses said train officials saw Burden and blew the horn, rang the bells and braked, but the 21-year-old kept walking until he was hit.
