The five-year-old demonstrated her skills on China’s “Amazing Chinese” show (similar to America’s Got Talent). Han demonstrated her capability on a dog, lizard, frog, chicken and rabbit. The animals rolled onto their backs and looked as though they were asleep.
Animal behaviorists claim Han has tapped into a defense mechanism in animals called “tonic immobility”. Creatures will fall into a state of near-death in order to convince predators to leave them alone. Humans can induce this state by holding animals in a fixed position on their backs or sides.
