Ford F-150 Found Driving On The Pinellas Trail

At about 9:15 a.m. this morning, the St Petersburg Police Department says they began to receive reports of a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck driving recklessly north bound on the Pinellas Trail exiting near 38th Avenue North.

Witnesses reported that the truck forced several bicyclists off the Trail and ran over several barricades.

The truck then appeared to head back south on the Trail where it was finally found stopped near 5th Avenue North and 71st Street.

The female driver, identified as 60-year-old Jonie Leeann Hensley of 1531 Gentry Street in Clearwater, was taken into custody and examined by paramedics at the scene. It is reported that she was acting wildly and appeared to be under the influence of some form of narcotic. She will be transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation pending any criminal charges, police said.

At this point there are no reported injuries and damage appears to be restricted to various barricades along the Pinellas Trail from 5th Avenue North to 38th Avenue North.

The vehicle she was driving, a 2010 Ford F-150, was registered to her, police said.
