DELAND, Fla., Aug. 6 (UPI) — A Florida man has been charged with child abuse after allegedly covering up bruises on a boy’s midsection with fake tattoos, police said.
Kelsey Turner, 25, of DeLand, Fla., was arrested Friday after an investigation that began in April. A teacher at the 5-year-old’s school noticed the tattoos and bruises and alerted police, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported Tuesday.
The child also suffered some mild internal bleeding.
Turner, whose relationship to the boy was not reported, was booked on charges of child abuse along with dealing in stolen property and burglary of an unoccupied dwelling.
The evidence leading to the burglary charges wasn’t released.
