Rainy Friday in Tampa Bay

Even though Tropical Storm Rina is falling apart, it’s moisture is moving northeast across our area today and tonight.  Most of the rain today will be from Tampa south, but everyone still stands a chance to see a few showers.  They will be on and off through tonight until a cold front swings through just after sunrise tomorrow.  That will usher in drier and cooler air on breezy N-NE winds.  Skies will clear in the afternoon and remain mostly sunny on Sunday.

Watching the area where Rina is now as more moisture will try to come northward by Monday.  At this point, it appears that most of that rain will be south of Tampa, but I will watch it closely as we don’t want to have rain on our Halloween!

Today: Mostly cloudy skies with winds light from the E then NW.  Showers will be on and off with more rain south of Tampa.  Highs will top out in the upper 70s to mow 80s.

Tonight: More clouds and a few showers, winds light from the E with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Saturday: A cold front moves through after sunrise bringing cooler and drier air to the region through Sunday.  The rain will taper off north to south and sunshine will make a return for the afternoon.  Winds will increase from the N then the NE and blow 15-25 mph.  It will not be the best boating afternoon as seas will be up.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a few clouds late in the day.  NE breezes will be slow to  diminish and it will be cooler and drier with highs in the upper 70s and less humidity.

Marine Forecast:  Winds E (NW) 10 kts.
