Rubio, Wants Trump to Fill Key State Department Post Now. The vacant assistant secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor (DRL), a post which has been vacant for the past year and a half. 

Florida Gov. Rick Scott talked the Trump administration into taking the state off their offshore oil drilling list but it is a move that was not received well in other states. As of now Florida and Republican Gov. Scott, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump was given a pass on the offshore drilling list to avoid a possible campaign issue if he runs for a spot in the United States Senate as he is expected to this fall against the senior Senator from Florida Bill Nelson a Democrat.

After some very strong pushback by Florida Gov. (R) Rick Scott the Trump administration issued a statement that it will not allow oil drilling off the coast of the Sunshine State. Despite being a strong supporter of President Donald, it was Scott who got the White House to reverse their plan to open up waters off the Gulf and Atlantic beaches for oil drilling.
