Learning from radical Saul Alinsky.

We are all now familiar with the protest disruption at the Trump Rally in Chicago on March 11th, and the protester charging Trump’s stage in Dayton on March 12th. The liberal media and other GOP candidates were quick to pin blame on Mr. Trump as opposed to the parties committing the offenses. Rumor has it members of MoveOn.org and Black Lives Matter had a hand in staging the protests. Let’s be clear though, this had little to do with peaceful protest, and more about disrupting Republican rallies. Their hatred of Mr. Trump and the GOP is such that this will likely become the standard operating procedure for all Republican rallies, particularly Mr. Trump’s.
Whereas the left sees nothing wrong with upsetting such rallies, the right is less likely to do so as they are more inclined to observe the rule of law. However, the left seems to feel such rules and regulations do not apply to them and, as such, are more inclined to break the law.
So where did this attitude come from? Actually, it is based on the famed community organizer and agitator, Saul David Alinsky (1909–1972), a writer noted for his 1971 book, “Rules for Radicals.”
During her days in college, Secretary Hillary Clinton wrote a critique of Alinsky’s tactics as her senior thesis, “THERE IS ONLY ONE FIGHT…”, An Analysis of the Alinsky Model. In it, she quotes a passage Alinsky’s book, “Reveille for Radicals”:
“When those who represent the status quo label you as an ‘agitator’ they are completely correct, for that is, in one word, your function…to agitate to the point of conflict.”
Mrs. Clinton goes on to observe, “Alinsky argues that those who wish to change circumstances must develop a mass-based organization and be prepared for conflict.”
She also noted, “If the ideals Alinsky espouses were actualized, the result would be social revolution.”
In other words, she recognizes Alinsky’s teachings as justifying conflict and unlawful civil disobedience. Thus we begin to understand the left’s inclination to ignore laws, rules, and regulations as they believe they have no bearing on their cause whatsoever.
What we witnessed over the weekend was very reminiscent of the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago which was intended to derail the party. The anger of this event by the silent majority helped elect Richard Nixon in the Fall.
Ironically, the same phenomenon is likely to help Mr. Trump win the Illinois state primary and give him the GOP nomination. The liberal left and media may not like Mr. Trump, but they unwittingly moved him another step closer to the White House.
