In two months, Republicans will be gathering in Cleveland, followed the week after by Democrats in Philadelphia.

Barring any cataclysmic occurrences, though you never know these days, the will each gather to nominate Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton respectively. But both prospective nominees carry what one could characterize as significant baggage. Here’s a look at how things stand with these lead candidates, and what key developments, whether they be positive or land mines, potentially await them.
