Obama In Hawaii, Congress Has Gone Home

Just as we were getting used to high stakes drama and gamesmanship, Congress adjourned till next year after Republicans and Democrats worked in concert to fund the U.S. government, reauthorize the Export-Import Bank, and maintain and expand the nation’s transportation infrastructure with a $1.1 trillion dollar spending bill that was negotiated over months. Both sides had parts that they could cheer about. The highlights of the giant bill passed by Congress to close out a rather combative year.
