President Barack Obama will meet with his attorney general on Monday, hold a town hall mmeting later in the week and will reportedly will go the executive action route to end run around Congress and get some sort of gun control legislation in the books.

The Republican-controlled Congress won’t be too pleased of course, but one has to figure that looking ahead at a lame duck final year as president, and with not much hope of getting anything legislatively substantial done anyway, what does he really have to lose? The question is, what exactly can he accomplish through executive orders, and can Obama win over the American public?
