The Bureau of Labor Statistics closed September 2015 out with grim news: A record 94 million people were not in the workforce.
The number from August to September grew by 579,000 from 94,031,000 to 94,610,000. A mere 62.4 percent of Americans have jobs meaning nearly one-third of the country’s 330 million people are unemployed.
While the Democrats love to ply their “War on Women” sticker to GOP policies, the truth in these numbers reveals 56.6 million women are currently out of work.
Overall, September generated just 167,000 new jobs, well behind 2014’s monthly average of 260,000.
The Dow Jones responded with a sharp drop at open on Friday and was down by 117 points as of 11 am ET.
