HS Cheerleader Punished for Tweet

REVERE – A high school cheerleading captain was banned from the cheerleading squad due to a tweet that was deemed insensitive.

Caley Godino is a senior at Revere High School and part of her homework is to watch the presidential debates. She weighed in via twitter and complaints started flowing in. The district decided to take action.

Revere Superintendent Dianne Kelly said “If you’re going to stand up and say something that other people will find offensive, then you need to be prepared to deal with the ramifications of that.”

Godino should be on the phone with the ACLU right now to be reinstated. The fact that this happened in Revere Massachusetts is even more disgusting. You would think with their rich heritage and being ground zero for the constitution they would have an understanding of what it means. This is not hate speech.

The key word in critical thinking is critical because a strong educated society is dependent on discussion. Monologues are for dictators.

Political correctness is driving us into a direction where we won’t even be able to speak soon. All words will be deemed micro-aggressions. So, we will have a silent society that communicates only with emoji’s. For more click here.
