GOP Candidates Wage Battle For Border

Last month it was Donald Trump staging a news conference in Laredo, Texas, on a bridge connecting Mexico with the United States. Yesterday, Trump’s fellow Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush took his own campaign to the border, meeting with political supporters at a fundraiser luncheon in the Rio Grande Valley.

GOP Sen. Ted Cruz and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also have visited the region in recent months. All the political campaigning along the border hints at the importance both parties place on the immigration debate and on the Hispanic vote in the 2016 run for the White House.

ABC’s Jim Ryan in Texas talks about the Bush visit.
