SAN FRAN -The FBI has been caught placing hidden microphones in public places in order to catch criminals. Agents hid microphones inside light fixtures and at a bus stop outside a courthouse in Oakland, California without a warrant to record conversations in an attempt to get evidence in a real estate fraud case. It’s one thing to engage in warantless surveillance when there’s an immediate danger of terrorism in order to protect lives. But do you think the government should be able to hide microphones in public places to catch real estate fraudsters?
