Donald Trump Leads GOP Field

The new ABC News—Washington Post poll gives Trump 24% among registered leaning Republicans, a huge surge from his number back in May. However, six of ten voters say there is no way they would vote for him in November. Walker and Bush finished in the teens. Over on the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton solidly in front, with over 60% of the vote.

Of more concern to the GOP, the poll also pitted Clinton against Bush in a general election, with Clinton edging out a victory. But with Trump in the race as well as an independent, it’s Clinton by a wide margin, showing that while many aren’t taking his candidacy seriously, if he’s still there in November, Trump will have an impact.
