WASHINGTON – Speaker of the House John Boehner is calling it quits.
First elected in 1990, Boehner quickly rose through the GOP ranks and was elected House Speaker in 2011. What state does Boehner leave the GOP? He basically is the guy that made sure that nothing happened. Nothing got done. And he is the ultimate representation of the status quo.
Boehner wanted immigration reform. Failed. Wanted tax reform. Failed. The only area that he succeed in is there are more GOPers elected today then ever in American history.
But under Boehner the Republicans have been labeled the “party of no.” The Dems didn’t like him because he was Republican and the Tea Party didn’t like him because he wasn’t conservative enough.
Boehner is taking his box of kleenex and going home.
