Are Public Bathrooms Really the New American Political Battle Ground?

NORTH CAROLINA – The bathroom brawl is going national. North Carolina has filed a lawsuit against the Department of Justice over the feds’ demand that the state not implement its LGBT bathroom law or risk losing federal funds. Gov. Pat McCrory said he hopes other states will join North Carolina in court  He says “This is not a North Carolina issue. It is now a national issue.”

Transgenders in public restrooms is now a national issue. Think about that statement. McCrory is wrong about bathrooms. But he’s right that the Feds shouldn’t be involved. They don’t need to be involved.
Here’s why. The NBA is already threatening to pull the 2017 All-Star Game out of Charlotte after North Carolina. PayPal ditched a North Carolina expansion of their company because of the law. Many more will follow. Soon enough, the economic pain will cause North Carolina to reverse itself. This is one of the actual cases where the government should stay out of an area where the private sector can take care of things best.
