Miami is Source of Obama’s Florida Money

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — President Barack Obama is coming to Orlando for two fundraisers, even though the biggest source of his Florida money-raising has come from Miami and other places in South Florida.

The president’s visit Tuesday includes a fundraiser at a hotel in downtown Orlando and another one at the home of attorney John Morgan.

Obama has raised $1.1 million in Florida through June, the latest period detailed figures are available.

The only places where Obama has raised more money are California, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and the District of Columbia.

Among possible Republican challengers, only Mitt Romney has raised more money in Florida. He’s received about $350,000 more than Obama.

The biggest source of Obama’s Florida donations has come from retirees, followed by attorneys and executives.
