House Passes First Attempt To Stop Obama On Immigration

House Republicans sharply rebuked President Obama’s overhaul of the nation’s immigration system Thursday, easily passing legislation to curb the White House from implementing action on immigration. The president has of course threatened to veto any attempt by congressional Republicans to roll back his immigration actions.

However, Thursday was not all doom-and-gloom for the president, the Republican-controlled House approved at $585 billion defense policy bill granting President Obama the authority to expand the U.S. military campaign against Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria.
