American Hostage Held By ISIS Confirmed Dead

The White House confirmed on Tuesday that Kayla Mueller, the 26-year-old aid worker kidnapped by the Islamic State a year and a half ago is dead. The militant group reportedly sent the Mueller family a photo over the weekend, which once authenticated by intelligence officials, proved she was dead. ISIS has claimed she was killed by Jordanian airstrikes in Syria.

The precise timing and circumstances of her death, however, have yet to be confirmed by U.S. officials. Meanwhile, as the president nears his request for Authorization to Use Military Force against ISIS, we are learning new details as to some of the specific details regarding the request.

ABC’s Devin Dwyer joined us from the White House to discuss.
