Zuckerberg Vows to Meet With Conservatives in Wake of Trending Topics Controversy

FACEBOOK – Mark Zuckerburg has made a public statement in the wake of accusations that their trending stories suppress conservative headlines. Though he denies that they are biased against conservative stories, he made an interesting statement regarding the revelations:

“In the coming weeks, I’ll also be inviting leading conservatives and people from across the political spectrum to talk with me about this and share their points of view. I want to have a direct conversation about what Facebook stands for and how we can be sure our platform stays as open as possible.”

This is nothing but spin. I’m sure that he’ll meet with conservatives. And I’m equally sure he’ll do nothing in response to their concerns. Facebook isn’t concerned about what people are actually talking about. They’re concerned about making money.

And this isn’t just about conservatives. They will block liberal stories also if they deem them to be too controversial. Facebook isn’t about free speech. It’s about the free flow of cash to Mark Mark Zuckerburg.
