The man who famously said that LaGuardia Airport was something you would find in a third world country, Vice President Joe Biden, was on hand when NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a plan to rebuild the entire facility at a cost of $4 billion. Rather than a series of ad-hoc terminals, they will tear it all down, and build just one main terminal. And it will be reachable by mass transit, including rail and ferry. And finally, after ground is broken next year, the entire job will be done in just 18 months. Currently, LaGuardia ranks near the bottom in customer satisfaction, from cleanliness, to accessibility and amenities.
