Volkswagen announced today on Tuesday that it would refit 11 million vehicles in the wake of the scandal over rigged emissions tests. The automaker says that in the near future customers will find out whether they need to bring their car in so the software that cheated emissions tests can be refitted.
Volkswagen says software installed in 11 million diesel vehicles obscured their true mileage and efficiency. The recall of these cars for refitting will be among the biggest ever by a single manufacturer.
